Rovena Lee Hillsman

Rovena Lee Hillsman, 94, of Cleveland, TN, formerly of Lake County, died Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Bradley Medical Center in Cleveland, TN.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Troy, TN.

Christine Bock Kelly

Christine Bock Kelly, 56, of Ridgely, Tennessee died Monday, October 21, 2024, at her residence in Ridgely, Tennessee. Funeral services for Mrs. Kelly will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Cottonwood Baptist Church in Ridgely, Tennessee. Visitation for Mrs. Kelly will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Cottonwood Baptist Church. Mack Bryant Stanley

Mack Bryant Stanley went to be with his Lord on October 10, 2024. Mack was born June 22, 1944, in Halls, TN to Joseph Barbour Stanley and Mattie Elizabeth Steelman Stanley.

Mack graduated from Halls High School in 1962. On August 27, 1962, Mack married Patricia Ann Grady Stanley. Mack earned an associate degree in Business Administration from Dyersburg State Community College, graduating with the highest honors.

In 2013, Mack was named Outstanding Alumnus at DSCC. Mack continued pursuing knowledge in his career as a federal employee with the United States Postal Service. Mack took all courses offered through the Post Office and attended weekend seminars.

During his 38 years of service, Mack held many different positions such as a City Letter Carrier, Supervisor, Officer-in-Charge, and Postmaster in different offices in West Tennessee. Mack enjoyed 27 years as a city letter carrier in his hometown of Halls, TN. Mack retired as Postmaster at Dyersburg Post Office in 2001. Mack had a strong work ethic.

Mack was sworn in as an Alderman in Halls, TN on May 6, 1985, and felt it was a privilege to serve his community until his last board meeting on April 4, 1994. Mack served on the Municipal Planning Commission in Halls, TN and the Lauderdale County Planning Commission.

Mack was on the Board of Directors with the Dyersburg-Dyer County Union Mission. Mack was a member of the Dyersburg Lions Club. Mack was a member of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE). Mack was a faithful member of Finley Methodist Church. Mack was a public servant at heart.

Mack took great joy in reading a good book, working in his vegetable garden, and puttering around in his shop. Mack loved spending time with his family. Mack was proud that his three grandsons had all achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.

Mack is survived by wife Pat of Dyersburg, TN; daughter Alesia Bowers (Mark) of Dyersburg, TN; three grandsons, John Stanley Bowers of Dyersburg, TN, Zachary Bryant Bowers (Amanda) of Franklin, TN and James Nicholas Bowers (Huntyre Brooke) of Dyersburg, TN; two great-granddaughters, Kennedy Grace Bowers and Eve Monroe Bowers of Franklin, TN; sister Sandra Kesler (David) of Halls, TN; two brothers, Jerry Stanley (Mary Jo) of Halls, TN and Tommy Stanley of Ripley, TN; sister-in-law Anita Rorie of Ripley, TN.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two great-grandsons, Brixton Levi Bowers and Beckham Bryant Bowers: sister-in-law Carolyn Stanley.

The family will receive visitors on Sunday, October 13, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Halls Funeral Home 109 North Church St., Halls, TN. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm.

Annie B. Jones

Annie B. Jones, 93, of Newbern, Tennessee died on Monday, October 21, 2024, at her residence, in Newbern, Tennessee.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jones will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 2, 2024, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Interment will follow at MCCO Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Visitation for Mrs. Jones will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Following the service, repass will be held at 329 Lake Street in Newbern, Tennessee.

John Ray Floyd

John Ray Floyd, a beloved husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother, son, uncle, friend, and retired veteran, born February 3, 1945, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2024, surrounded by family and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Floyd & Sylvia Walton, and six siblings. Survived by one sibling.

John is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Charlotte Floyd; six children; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
