PBS affiliate WLJT brings da Vinci premier to PDC in Dyersburg

PBS/WLJT Channel 11 General Manager Peter Noll brought a premier of famed documentarian Ken Burns’s series about Leonardo da Vinci to Dyersburg on October 22. Held at the Professional Development Center (PDC), with coordination by the Dyersburg Historical Society, the premiere played to a nearly full house of Dyer County residents. Noll said that ordinarily, he would premier such shows at schools. However, his station’s emphasis on all things local prompted him to bring it a wider public in the viewing area. Dyer County Historical Society President Danny Walden commented on getting the event to Dyersburg, saying, “We saw it as a golden opportunity for the Historical Society and the PDC to show what we do for the community—like bringing PBS here. That’s what we do.”
