Danny Lynn Vestal

Danny Lynn Vestal of Waverly Hall, Georgia was called home to Heaven on October 6, 2024. Born on April 12, 1958, in Gary, Indiana, Danny was a beloved figure in his community. Danny brought joy and laughter into the lives of all who knew him. Danny’s life was a testament to his unwavering Christian faith and his deep relationship with Jesus.

These values guided him in all his endeavors and brought him great comfort and joy. Danny used his faith to bring encouragement to cancer patients, offering them hope and strength during their difficult journeys. Known by many names, some of Danny’s most cherished were husband, dad and Grandaddy.

He committed his life to instill values of faith, work ethic and devotion in his children and grandchildren. He shared a common bond with both grandchildren through leadership in the National FFA Organization. Whether playing or watching, Danny was an avid sportsman. He was a spirited Tennessee Volunteer fan as well as a loyal St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. Danny also enjoyed the outdoors, spending much time hunting, fishing and gardening, activities that brought him closer to nature and provided treasured memories with family and friends. Danny built a fulfilling career in the HVAC industry, a trade where he was well-respected for his expertise and dedication. He was often known as “Dan the Trane Man”. Danny is survived by his loving wife, Sandy; son, Justin of Dyersburg, TN; daughter, Jessica(Jamie) of Ellerslie, GA; grandchildren, Addie and Brooks; sister, Corinne of Dyersburg, TN; and his mother, Eva Fay of Dyersburg, TN; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Evon Vestal.

Services to honor Danny’s life will be held on Sunday, October 13, at Evangel Church, 5350 Veterans Parkway, Columbus, Georgia. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 3:00 PM.

McMullen Funeral Home of Columbus, Georgia is assisting the family during this time. Contributions can be made to Evangel Church Reach Missions/India.

Danny's legacy of faith, family, and kindness will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew him.

Patsy Ruth Scholle Blair

Patsy Ruth Scholle Blair

March 17, 1936 - September 29, 2024

Patsy Ruth Scholle Blair, affectionately known as Mamaw, died surrounded by loved ones on September 29, 2024. Pat was born on March 17, 1936, in Coldwater, Kansas, to George and Ruth Scholle. Upon marrying Robert Blair in 1955, she proudly served as a Navy wife for 20 + years. Their last assignment was in Millington, TN, where Pat worked at the Navy Exchange, supported the Millington Trojans, and made many friends. Later in retirement, they relocated to Dyersburg, TN, to be near family. She and Robert, “Gene,” spent their time traveling the United States, spending time at grandchildren's and great-grandchildren’s many events, and following NASCAR racing with friends in their timeshare in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Pat is survived by her son, Ronald Blair, and wife, Nancy Hudson Blair, of Lexington TN; her son, Brian Blair, and wife, Penny Castleman Blair, of Dyersburg, TN; four grandchildren, Reece Blair (Casey), Ryan Blair (Shannon), Cari-Beth McDonald (Brooks), and Mari-Kate Estes (Brandon); eight great-grandchildren: Kolby Pratt, Brody McDonald, Walker Blair, Bailey Blair, Blair McDonald, Marley Blair, Hayes Estes, and Mary Clayton Estes.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Robert “Gene” Blair, her parents, her brother Frank “Bud” Scholle, and sisters Bert Urban and Shirley Coonfield.

There will be a private family service on Wednesday, October 16, with interment to follow at Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at Parkers Crossroads. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to: Dyer County Community Cancer Fund, Henderson County Tennessee Carl Perkins Child Abuse Center, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or the charity of your choice.

Betty Prince-Hopper

Mrs. Betty Prince-Hopper, age 65, of Hornbeak, TN, won her battle with cancer and went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at her home, surrounded by family and friends. Betty was born August 17, 1959, in Ridgely, TN, to the late Cas Newton Joyce and Maggie Joyce Dycus. She worked as a buyer and planner for various companies based in West Tennessee. As she is remembered for saying “Let me break it down for you!” Betty was a very straightforward person, but if you truly knew her, you knew that she had the biggest heart. She never hesitated to help anyone in need and made everyone feel welcome. She loved her family and friends fiercely. Her sons and her grand-babies were her pride and joy. Betty loved God, all animals, food & cooking, music, traveling and all things Betty Boop.

Betty is survived by her husband, Tommy Hopper, Sr. of Hornbeak, TN, her children, Jarrod (Nikki) Prince of Newbern, TN, Gerald (Crystal) Prince of Ridgely, TN, Natalie (Jeremy) Seals of Hornbeak, Amanda Hopper of Hendersonville, TN, Tommy (Jennifer) Hopper, Jr. of Hornbeak, her sisters, Bonnie (Tom) Stoneburner of Ridgley, TN, and Barbara (Lilburn) Henson of Ridgely, TN, and her brother, Finis (Bobbie) Joyce, Sr. of Lake Cormorant, MS. She was loved as “MiMi” by her grandchildren, Adryana Mar, Braydon Prince, Lily Prince, Ava Prince, Layla Prince, Jackson Seals, Katie Bratton, Paul Hayden Seals, Wes Mooring, Livee Seals, Nathan Scott, Kiley Hopper, and Ty Hopper; and her great-grandchildren, Baylor Seals & Hendon Bratton. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Bobby “Bub” Hodoe, James “Shorty” Joyce, Ernest “Junior” Joyce, Billy “Red” Joyce; her grandson, Davdon Prince; and her beloved Schnauzer, Hammer.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at The River of Life Church in Ridgley, TN, from 10:00 am until 12:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 p.m. conducted by Pastors Dennis Henson & Clayton Mahan. Interment will follow in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely, TN. Serving as pallbearers will be Jarrod Prince, Gerald Prince, Braydon Prince, Tommy Hopper, Jr., Jeremy Seals & Edwin Cruz. The honorary pallbearer will be Davdon Prince.

The family requests that memorials be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the ministries of River of Life Church or the activities of the Ridgely, TN Senior Center.

Bobby G. Watson

Bobby G. Watson, 76, died on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee. Funeral services for Mr. Watson will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 19, 2024, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Bro. Jesse Webb, Ms. Brenda Coleman, Mr. Ronnie V. Watson, Mr. David Gilton, Sr., and Bro. Tracy Bryant. Sarah F. Cooper, 93, of Newbern, Tennessee died Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.
