SPECIAL TO THE STATE GAZETTE

The Dyersburg Police Department (DPD) has announced a fundraising sale of loaded BBQ baked potatoes with the works. Proceeds go to the “Shop with a Cop” program in which officers accompany children and their families through Walmart so that the children can choose toys and other Christmas gifts. The program provides presents for kids whose families might not be able to afford gifts.

Tickets include a bottle of water and the potato. Provided on the side for potatoes: cheese, butter, sour cream, and sauce.

Tickets for the sale are pre-order only and can be purchased at the Police Department, 425 West Market Street in Dyersburg. For information on prices, call (731) 288-7621.

Potatoes will be available for pickup on Wednesday October 30, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Downtown Storm Shelter, 215 South Church Street in Dyersburg.
