Dyer-Lake CASA hosts 4th Annual Fork and Cork at Fyrne Lake

The 4th Annual Fork and Cork supporting Dyer-Lake CASA was held Tuesday night and welcomed a large crowd of supporters for a night of music, food, and fellowship.

The 4th annual Fork and Cork Food and Wine Festival to support Dyer Lake CASA was held on Tuesday, October 1, at the Fyrne Lake Lanai. The mission of Dyer-Lake CASA is to ensure children have a safe and permanent home by recruiting and training volunteers to advocate in the courts for abused and neglected children.

Pictured above, Dyersburg State Community College Girls Basketball players volunteered time to assist in this year’s Fork and Cork event.

The event welcomed a large crowd for an evening of live music, local food and beverages, and a silent auction led by Autry Sartin of Fisher Realty and Auction.

Dyer-Lake CASA Executive Director Wendy Smith says it’s a blessing to have a community that will come together in support of this important cause.

Smith says one of the main goals of Dyer-Lake CASA is bringing awareness to the need for individuals to become involved with the community’s children who need a safe permanent home to become successful in their lives, as well as their families being able to successfully parent and become better caregivers.

She concluded by thanking all of the vendors, attendees, and supporters of Dyer-Lake CASA, and also extended her thanks to Dyersburg State Community College’s basketball teams for volunteering their time to help set up the event and assist in cleaning afterward.
