The Dyersburg boys golf team's hopes of making a second straight trip to the TSSAA Class A State Tournament are still alive as the Trojans took the first step in the postseason, repeating as the District 15A Champions at Milan.

Dyersburg was led by John David Morris, who shot a 76 on the day to take third overall in the 18-hole tournament. Jayce Ellerbrook finished as fourth overall medalist with an 84 while Brett Horner came off the course with an 86. Ryan Wesson rounded out the Dyersburg scoring with a 92.

The Trojan top-four combined for a score of 338 which placed them nine strokes ahead of second-place Madison's 347. Lakeland rounded out the top three with a score of 371.

The Dyersburg boys will now advance to next week's Region 8A Tournament at The Links in Memphis on Monday.

Dyersburg's boys will also be joined by Lady Trojan golfer Maddie Kate Wells, who qualified for the region tournament as an individual.

The team which wins the region tournament qualifies for state. Individually, the top three golfers not on the winning team also advance to the state tournament.
