The annual Depot Days 5K Run kicked off on Saturday, September 21, as racers took to the start line at First United Methodist Church in Newbern at 8 a.m. The event featured a 5K run, a 1-mile run, and a 2-mile walk. The event was held in honor and memory of the late George Butler and Bart Wiliams.
The day welcomed a large crowd and a challenging route throughout Newbern followed by awards. Members of the Dyer County Rescue Squad were on-site to assist. The Newbern Rotary Club hosted this year’s event.
