The Dyersburg Middle School girls soccer team opened its week strong with a pair of wins, including one on the turf at J.C. Sawyers Stadium on Tuesday night.

DMS opened the week on the road where the Lady Trojans traveled to Martin to defeat Westview 9-2 on Monday evening.

Fatou Manneh and Za'Riyah Jackson each led the way for the DMS with four goals apiece while Morgan Eakin added another to account for the Lady Trojans' scoring.

DMS returned to the field on Tuesday at home when the Lady Trojans hosted Milan in a district game and took a 6-0 win over the Lady Bulldogs.

DMS goalkeeper JulieAnne Cundiff picked up the shutout in the goal with the help of defenders Ella Coleman, Reese Seratt, and Julia Hamilton along with midfielder Tinley Newsome.

Manneh led the way with five goals while Jackson added another and an assist to the win.

The Lady Trojans rounded out their string of three games in three evenings with a 2-1 win over South Gibson in Medina on Wednesday evening.

The game-winning goal came off the foot of Manneh on a penalty kick in golden goal overtime.

The lone Lady Trojan goal during regulation came from Manneh as well, in the first half.

Following the win over the Lady Hornets, the Lady Trojans are 7-2 and sit in first place in the West Tennessee Regional Soccer Conference District 2. The win also clinched a postseason berth for the DMS girls.

DMS returns to action on Monday, Sept. 23 when the Lady Trojans travel to Paris to take on Inman at 6 p.m.
