Lady Choctaws mercy rule Central in district play

After getting their first win of the season on Tuesday, the Lady Choctaw soccer team didn’t wait long to get their second victory as the orange and white claimed their second ‘W’ in a row with a 10-1 win over Obion County Central in District 13AA action on Saturday afternoon in Newbern.

Dyer County spread its offense around, getting goals from five different Lady Choctaws. Anna Hampton had her second straight four-goal game while Lennon Brooks recorded a hat trick with three goals as well. Ava Pearson, Linley Dennis, and Taylor Bopp each recorded single goals to account for the Lady Choctaw scoring.

The win moves Dyer County’s District 13AA record to 1-2 on the year. The Lady Choctaws have one last district game left on the season when they host Dyersburg on Monday, Sept. 23.

Dyer County returns to action on Monday when they take on Ripley at 6 p.m. The orange and white finish their two-game week on Thursday when the Lady Choctaws journey to Gibson County on Thursday at 6 p.m.
