Kim Worley graduated eighth in her class from Dyersburg High School in 1989. After graduation, Worley attended The University of Tennessee at Martin before graduating from Tennessee Technological University in 1993, where she married fellow Dyersburg City Schools Alumni Chad Worley. She also began her Master's Degree at Tennessee Tech, graduating with a double degree in curriculum and instruction and administration.

Worley wanted nothing more than to return to her alma mater to educate the future of Dyersburg. She began teaching at Dyersburg High School in the fall of 1993 in the Chemistry department. While at Dyersburg High School, she taught Economics, Physical Science, and Pre-Calculus.

She finally landed in her true passion, Algebra 1 and Algebra II. Worley taught until she became an Instructional Supervisor at Dyersburg High School in 2007. She then became Principal in 2014 before becoming Director of Dyersburg City Schools in 2020.

Worley and her husband, Chad, have two children and Dyersburg High School Alumni, Robert and Maggie. The Trojan tradition runs strong within their family! Maggie followed in her mother’s footsteps and is now a Special Education teacher at Dyersburg Middle School, while her daughter in law, Erin, is a Kindergarten teacher at Dyersburg Primary School who also coaches softball at Dyersburg High School.
