The Dyer County Beer Board convened Tuesday, August 13, to discuss a beer permit for an up-and-coming business in the Fowlkes community.

Members of the Beer Board present for the meeting included Terry McCreight, Brandon Dodds, Debra Roberson, and Pam Newell.

Chairman Robert Kirby was absent.

Others in attendance included County Clerk Diane Moore.

Owner Cheryl Griffith says BUBS Place, located at 4671 South Highway 51 Bypass, will house pool tables and more in a safe, family environment. While the concept of the business is still in the developmental phases, Griffith expressed that she is excited to offer Dyer County a business that provides safe, family entertainment.

A background check was performed on Griffith per protocol. No records were found.

A motion was made by McCreight to approve the permit. The motion was seconded by Roberson, with all in favor.

With no other business, Griffith thanked the board and the meeting adjourned.
