The UT-TSU Extension Office “Summer Feeding Program” provided thousands of balanced meals to children at multiple locations this summer. Extension Agent William Taylor oversaw the program, delivering meals to sites in Dyersburg, Newbern, Trimble, and Lake County. One site was McIver’s Grant Public Library. Digital Cataloguer Lara Friedhof said, “It’s an excellent program. All credit to William Taylor, who likes to stay in the background but who makes this happen.” She noted that that as of July 13, the library had distributed 1,517 meals. By program’s end on July 19, the library will have distributed around 1,800 meals. Library Director Vanessa Cain said, “We’re thrilled to be a part of this program.”
